My Dear Friend

"My Dear Friend"  is a Rumi poem translated by Nader Khalili

Summer
My dear friend
never lose hope

To Pastures New
when the Beloved
sends you away.

Constance
If you're abandoned
if you're left hopeless

The Land Baby
tomorrow for sure
you'll be called again.

Solitude
If the door is shut
right in your face

Divine Light
keep waiting with patience
don't leave right away.

The Storm
Seeing your patience
your love will soon summon you with grace

The Two Crowns
raise you like a champion.

The Apparition on the Streckelberg (Illustration for Meinhold's 'The Amber Witch')
And if all roads
end in dead ends

The Primrose Path of Dalliance, Farringford
you'll be shown the secret paths

Eldena Ruin
no one will comprehend.

Aphrodite
The beloved I know

Orchids and Spray Orchids with Hummingbirds
will give with no qualms
to the puny ant

The Hireling Shepherd
the kingdom of Solomon.

Sir Galahad
My heart has journeyed
many times around the world

The Muse at Sunrise
but has never found
and will never find

The Celestial City and River of Bliss
such a beloved again.

The Crystal Ball
Ah I better keep silence

The Guardian
I know this endless love

Golden Light
will surely arrive

Una and the Lion
for you and you and you.
